It’s time for a quick update on news from the metro:

FirstLight Fiber has some new success to report in the education vertical this week. Colby-Sawyer College has picked them for a 1Gbps upgrade to its campus in the Lake Sunapee region of New Hampshire. FirstLight will be combining with Oxford Networks later this year, putting the finishing touches on a pretty extensive consolidation of northern New England alternative fiber assets.

Colo Atl has a new tenant to report down in Atlanta, and it’s also one that is the middle of a consolidation event. Tower Cloud, which will soon be part of CS&L if things go according to plan, has opened a point of presence in the facility. The node will serve as one of the regional fiber backhaul specialist’s mission-critical facilities.

And in the Big Apple, Webair is making some music with the New York Philharmonic. They are providing the symphony orchestra with managed cloud, cloud storage, backups, colo, and of course network connectivity. Among other things, Webair will be hosting the Leon Levy Digital Archives, a repository of 175 years of the institution’s history.
