Media tools installation Error/Fix

While installing media tools like Neroacc, we might come across the following errors


/usr/ports/audio/linux-neroaaccodec]# make install clean
===>  Staging for linux-neroaaccodec-1.5.1
===>   linux-neroaaccodec-1.5.1 depends on file: /compat/linux/etc/redhat-release – not found
===>    Verifying install for /compat/linux/etc/redhat-release in /usr/ports/emulators/linux_base-c6

*** [install] Error code 1

Stop in /usr/ports/emulators/linux_base-c6.
*** [run-depends] Error code 1

Stop in /usr/ports/audio/linux-neroaaccodec.
*** [install] Error code 1

Stop in /usr/ports/audio/linux-neroaaccodec.


Execute the following

sysctl compat.linux.osrelease=2.6.18

Then add the below line in /etc/sysctl.conf.


For neroaacc, it requires linux support and hence enable it from /usr/ports/emulators/linux_base-c6 after which
able to install linux-neroaaccodec without any issues
