What you will do

Webair is seeking a VP of Infrastructure with a proven track record of execution with compute, network, storage, and cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will report to the CTO and lead multiple teams focused on engineering, architecture, and software. You will be directly responsible for the stability, security, and scale of a global network of cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate is an experienced technical leader eager to lead a growing team, define technical and non-technical standards, and mentor a bright group of seasoned engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a skilled, growing team of 8+ engineers and architects who are responsible for global shared infrastructure including compute clusters, networking, storage, networking, and security.
  • Define standards and reference architecture for existing and future deployments.
  • Define, manage, and build automated management and monitoring tools related to infrastructure components.
  • Manage infrastructure projects related to R&D of new products & services, refresh of existing infrastructure components, security, and automation.
  • Balance projects, operations, capacity planning, and security tasks for the team.
  • Help define product roadmaps, priorities, and initiatives to ensure long customer success and flexibility, including those related to Hybrid production cloud, network & security services, disaster recovery, backups, and containerized workloads.
  • Integrate your efforts with software development, operations, and provisioning teams, providing excellent interdepartmental communication, while ensuring informative information to the senior and executive leadership team.
  • Motivate, nurture, and recruit skilled engineers, helping advance our engineering team with actionable professional growth plans, while helping to raise the bar with recruiting efforts.
  • Organize and optimize to achieve ambitious development goals, while providing clear planning to your teams and excellent visibility to the executive leadership team.
  • Manage a significant budget of both OPEX and CAPEX, ensuring good value-mapping of expenditures to outcomes,and also working with finance to realize capitalization of qualifying work output.
  • Occasionally dive deep, alongside your team, to solve the hardest challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Experience and knowledge of related technologies, including DNS, TCP/IP, dynamic routing, Vmware, SAN Storage, high availability routing and firewalling, IDS/IPS, Vmware, Linux, Windows, common open source and commercial software and frameworks, Veeam, Zerto, Cisco, PaloAlto and similar technologies.
  • Deep understanding of internet infrastructure, including global networks, public clouds, and traditional IT networks.
  • Understand the needs of large enterprise organizations related to IT, security, organization, and communication within the context of our customers.
  • Detail-oriented leader who thrives on tuning execution to a well-oiled machine.
  • Promotes a positive work-life balance and instills it in their team.
  • Drives for consensus on solution acceptance criteria with stakeholders and is self-motivated to push the entire team towards an excellent technical outcome.
  • Enjoys a high-communication environment with a lot of transparency, and can detect and resolve conflict before it creates problems in your team dynamics.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to concisely communicate to and with your team, peers, and the executive leadership team.
  • Experience managing teams of 10+ through at least one layer of direct reports, including both full-time employees and remote contractors, with a proven ability to nurture, promote, challenge, and grow talent while creating accountability throughout your organization.
  • BS in Computer Science, electrical engineering, Math, or a related field or equivalent experience; advanced degrees useful.
  • It is useful to have experience both in larger enterprise environments (1B+ revenue) as well as startup or service provider experience.

The primary focus of this role is to prospect, qualify, and develop new opportunities with a focus on Mid-Market and Enterprise organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Self generate and manage opportunities through the entire sales cycle
  • Display superior presentation and negotiation skills in order to gain new business
  • Work closely with Sales Engineers to architect the proper solution for the customers’ specific needs.
  • Maintain constant communication with customers to ensure our solutions are meeting all of their needs while maximizing any opportunity to up-sell services
  • Develop relationships with targeted prospects in focused regions/verticals
  • Track all activity through the company CRM to ensure all weekly, monthly and quarterly goals are being met

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in the IT/Cloud Industry
  • Experience successfully managing multiple tasks at once while maintaining a high workflow
  • Self-driven, enthusiastic, positive nature, persistent, highly motivated, and results-oriented
  • Ability to independently prospect and qualify new sales opportunities
  • Solution selling expertise with knowledge of corporate IT Infrastructure and understanding of cloud-based solutions

The primary focus of this role is to self-generate qualified appointments for our Sales Executives with a focus on Mid-Market and Enterprise organizations. This person will also focus on learning the sales process and gain technical knowledge needed for possible career advancement opportunities within Webair.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and develop a lead driven sales pipeline
  • Identify C-suite decision-makers, understand a prospect’s needs, and deliver the Webair value-proposition with the goal of setting up qualified appointments for our sales executives
  • Cold Calling is a Must: 50-75 calls per day
  • Work with sales executives to schedule qualified lead calls
  • Maintain persistent follow up with targeted prospects to the point the lead has been qualified or disqualified
