Verification Process
Once you purchase a digital certificate, there are four steps to making the enrollment process complete.
Generating a Public and Private Key - If you purchased web hosting for the domain name from Webair, you can generate a Public Key and Private Key right from your Control Panel by entering the requested information. If you purchased web hosting from another service provider, you must contact that provider to generate a Public Key and Private Key.
Note: The moment you receive your Private Key, please make a careful note of it. The Private Key is only known to the owner of the digital certificate to ensure security.
Submitting Details to Thawte - You will need to submit certain information to Thawte for verification. This can be done right from your Control Panel by following the steps listed below:
- Login to your Control Panel and search for the domain name for which you have ordered a digital certificate
- Click on the order, then select the Enroll Certificate button.
- Input the details requested for verification, then click on the Enroll button.
After you have enrolled, Thawte will reach out to your designated Corporate / Technical contact to request documentation.
Once you have completed the enrollment process, Thawte will begin quickly verifying the data you have submitted and issue your digital certificate. You can check the status of your digital certificate request by clicking on the check certificate status button on your Control Panel. This process could take anywhere from a few minutes to a few days, depending on the type of certificate purchased.
